When beginning anything new it can seem so terrifying. So many thoughts may travel through your mind. The crazy thing about those thoughts are that they are usually not the ones that empower or encourage you. Why is it that when we want to begin something new or that we've never done before negative thoughts enter in our minds first? I can tell you why, its because you don't believe in the power of you. I'm going to change that perspective in your mind right now simply by saying "what if you thought about the good that could come from that new beginning?" This reminds me of my one year old son showing me what it looks like when you have no worries about getting it wrong. You can actually focus much better on getting it right. Let me tell you the story of how he showed me this. So one day we were practicing colors. He would pick up a crayon and shout out it's color. I would either say "good job" or "yes, that's right". He would get so excited about picking up a new color and shouting it out. Well this particular time he came to a color and shouted out the wrong color. My response was "that's not blue, that's purple. His reaction was priceless. He started laughing and saying "oh, purple". This showed me that getting it wrong is not so bad, it's actually cool to become excited about continuing to try even if we don't get it right the first time. As adults we tend to forget about having a childlike kind of calm knowing that eventually we will begin to love embracing the power of who we are, how and why we do things. At this point its time for you to stop thinking about what could happen negative if you start that new job, or try out for that new acting role, or even begin writing that first book. For now, just trust and believe in the power of you and do something you normally wouldn't do. Think positive!
